While the Computer Was Away...

This past week Tim stole took the computer with him to Atlanta for work so I was stranded! That's not completely true...Karen had two computers at our house but I hate using her work computers for personal use. So, I was computer-less for soooo loooong! Here's what happened while the computer was away:

• Mother's Day! This was the day that Tim left, but I was still super spoiled. We had my parents, my grandma Warehime, my brother, and Karen and Rick over for a bar-b-que. We even ended up watching Happy Gilmore, but I'm not sure how that happened. The kids made me some wonderful paintings (with some help from Tim) and I got some beautiful flowers from Karen and Rick.
  
  
  
  
• Somehow it worked out to where Karen was able to stay with us while Tim was gone. The timing was absolutely perfect! I was able to work out, Karen got to play with the kids, and we all went to the park and to the mall to play. The kids now have a ton of summer clothes, and I even got some adorable shoes. What would have been a very stressful week ended up being a blast. Thank you, Karen!
  
  
• My friend Valerie got married on Saturday! She was a stunning bride and all the Bunco girls had a wonderful time! Congrats Valerie and Chris!

My little brother is married!!! I still cannot type that without thinking, "What!? He's just a little kid!" He's also 2 years older than I was when I got married, so I guess I need to adjust my brain.

The wedding was held at the Tulsa Zoo and the weather could not have been more perfect. The sky even turned purple, one of the wedding colors, during their vows. It was a beautiful day.

Karen and Rick were able to make the long trip from Colorado and we are so happy they were here! I'm not sure what Tim and I would have done without them. Brenden and Lauren had a blast with them!

Weekend Wave Running

This past weekend was absolutely busy, but completely fun. Saturday night Tim, Lauren and I attended Tim's friends Emily and Geoff's wedding. They could not have picked a better day! The weather was wonderful, especially for August in Oklahoma. The venue was fantastic, and the bride looked gorgeous. They had some awesome food and enjoyed their first dance next to the pool. We were able to meet some really nice people and had fun cheesing in the photo booth. Thanks for inviting us Emily and Geoff!

Married!

While we were celebrating, Brenden was able to hang out with grandma and grandpa Kelly. He wasn't feeling super well, I don't think he's completely kicked the ear infection he had a few weeks ago, so they called it an early night. We did have a moment after we made it back to their house where Brenden was crying and Lauren was screaming (teething hurts!) and wow, it was busy. But we made it through and Mike and Connie were super nice and watched the kids for us the next morning so that Tim and I could get a little extra sleep. Thank you, guys!

That morning, after Lauren showed off her new rolling skills, which really just means she rolls onto her tummy and gets stuck, we headed out to the lake. Mike and Connie bought a wave runner about a month ago and it needed some work so this was the first time they had a chance to try it out. It was so much fun!

We all had a chance to drive it and the person who enjoyed it the most was Brenden. I didn't think we would ever get him off of it! Tim and I did have a few spills and I cracked my nose on his back and then on his head (OUCH) but we all made it through with only minor injuries. Mostly Tim and I are burnt. My back is particularly painful and Tim's feet are super sensitive, but it was definitely worth it.

All the fun wore Brenden out and he climbed into the "tent" we had built to protect Lauren from the sun and promptly fell asleep. Anytime he willingly takes a nap you know he's exhausted. I'm so glad that the kids are going to be able to grow up going to the lake. Considering Brenden's first trip on the boat was at 8 months and Lauren's first trip was at 6 weeks, I think they are off to a good start.

Celebration

Our anniversary may have been on the 24th, but we celebrated the 23rd. I still can't believe it's been 5 years! Mike and Connie were nice enough to take Brenden for the night, which I'm sure they really hated. (Sarcasm!) Of course, he was in such a sweet mood when they came to pick him up that it was hard to watch him leave. He even came back and blew me kisses through the glass door. Eventually I tore myself away from waving goodbye and we got ready to leave.

We caught a noon showing of Avatar, which is a really good, so very pretty, but VERY long, movie. It wasn't life changing, like I've heard some people describe it, but I liked it. Tim said he'd see it again, but I think once was enough for me. Somehow I made it through the whole movie without having to get up, but Tim had to leave at least 4 times to visit the bathroom. The infamous Kelly bladder strikes again!

After a stop at New Balance to let Tim spend his gift card, (he got some pretty nice shoes) we headed over to the Melting Pot for dinner. We both love that place and I'm really excited that we get to go back for my birthday in March! The cheese, the salads, the entrée, the CHOCOLATE...all so very good. Just having some time to be together, to be able to relax and enjoy our meal instead of worrying if Brenden is eating, or if he's throwing something, was so nice.

Being 28 weeks pregnant (yay for only 12 weeks to go!) I'm not really one for going out at night so we were home at a very reasonable hour. I will never complain about being able to relax and veg out on the couch and that is exactly what we did. It obviously wasn't what you would call an exciting end to the evening, but it was perfect for us. So much is going to change in the next few months and it was wonderful to have some time to just be with each other.

Next year we'll have TWO kids...wow...someone pinch me.

Last night my brother did what he had been planning on doing for a long time...he proposed!!! The poor guy has been holding onto the ring for a few months now, waiting for the right moment.

I don't know all the details or if it went as planned but I know they were going to take a horse drawn carriage ride and he wanted to do it under the St. Louis Arch. When I see pictures and actually talk to him for more than 3 seconds I guess I'll find out. :)

Yesterday evening we were invited to attend our friends Wes and Anna's wedding. Tim was an usher so we arrived around 5 pm so that he could get into his tux and take pictures. Brenden and I kept ourselves busy climbing up and down stairs and telling the cake lady where everything was supposed to be.

I'd love to show you a picture of the gorgeous bride and happy groom during the ceremony, but this was my view at 7 pm when it started...


Needless to say, Brenden was exhausted. Not long before the ceremony he flipped out, screaming inconsolably. I drove around, listening to "Mockingbird" at least 20 times, for about 20 minutes until he passed out. He slept for 30 minutes and I played on my phone while people walked by us in the parking lot. I'm sure they thought I was slightly strange.

At about 7:30 pm he woke up in a decent mood and since I could see people milling around outside the building I knew it was time for the reception. He was totally excited to see his dad again and had a wonderful time chasing the girls around, stopping occasionally to wiggle to the music.

Not sure what this is about...but it's funny!

We headed home around 9 pm and he entertained us with his sleepy sillies until we pulled into the driveway at 10 pm. I kept my fingers crossed that getting to sleep so late would mean a little bit of sleeping in. Well...that's not how Brenden works. 6:30 am rolled around and he was ready to get up and go. It may not have been the most relaxing weekend, but it was interesting! :)
